Well, my boyfriend was getting tired of me using a dish towel to cover the fresh baked challa on Friday nights.  And, really my dish towels aren't pretty enough or specially enough for Shabbat.  So I tried my hand at a wonky log cabin and made myself a challa cover.

Here it is in action...

It turned out beautiful and a wonderful addition to any Shabbat table.  Love the colors.

Oooh that is glorious! I love the fabrics and colors you picked. Definitely good enough for a Shabbat table. Not sure what Shabbat is, but I'm wikipediaing it NOW! I'm sure it's a holiday of some sort for a religion that I should probably know more about. Smiley

Great work!

Wow, I never said thank you for all the nice comments.  So, Thanks!!

Just last Friday we used this challa chover and found a little tear in it.  Darn.  Not sure how that happened, but I guess it means that it's time to sew up a new one.
