The inspiration

On a very slow and boring day at work, I was searching etsy and found a listing (above picture) that gave me an idea. I searched google and found two different templates so I decided to give it a try:

My 2 different versions:

Finishing touches:

Blog I found the templates at:

and

*above picture of etsy listing is courtesy of "CharonelDesigns" at etsy...of whom I do not know, never met, nor have purchased anything from, but merely admired the work.

I'm curious as to what purpose they serve. Obviously they can't be used as shoes... Are they merely decorative though? Could you possibly make closed toed shoes and use them to hold tiny presents perhaps?
This is an interesting idea. I've never seen anything like this.

Yes, they are little boxes/party favors. On one of the links there is a photo of a shoe stuffed with a little bag of candy corn (it was for halloween). The etsy seller I got the idea from advertised them as party favor boxes. I haven't seen any with closed toe shoes but I'm sure the pattern could be altered to make one.

I love them.  I think I'm going to try it - but I have such a hard time following directions.  I'll really have to concentrate
