Go Kitten Wrangler! Smash 'em!

I really don't mind what language I learn. It will be an experience and that's what counts.

games could be good!  i just found an old spanish phonetics puzzle/game hidden in a shelf in my office.  i bet i could use the format they use to add more words...  (if anyone else is interested in spelling/phonetics games, i could probably scan some of the cards for your curiosity)

I'm growing really really really attached to the idea of an Alphabet book in another language....

This is a great idea! I've been really into altered books of late....

Power is strength and the ability to see yourself through your own eyes and not through the eyes of another. It is being able to place a circle of power at your own feet and not take power from someone else's circle.

I'm not picky about what language, or languages, my partner knows Smiley I actually like the idea of crafts with words from many languages on them, so anything is good! Cheesy

I found this great picture book in the shops for Children learning Chinese. If I end up not teaching Chinese, although I guess that is unlikely, I will keep it for myself.

If I do send it off though I will need to correct it. Some of the English is wrong, and oddly, some of the Chinese is wrong too.   Huh

Ooh. I'm trying to slow on the swapping a bit, but this looks fabulous! I speak enough French & German to get by. . .  when pressed Wink (But either would be decent to make a swap package!). And I do also have that "Latin for Dummies" book sitting on my book shelf that I might be able to whip into a craft form AND my printed pages of vocab from when I was attempting to learn Swahili! (I gave it up, but a few words are still in my brain. And more are on my pages!)

And I don't know if this will make me a peculiar fellow, but I wouldn't actually mind receiving crafted items from the languages I'm somewhat familiar with! (French, German, or Swahili! I need them to get into my brain daily.)

Though there's more I'd be interested in too. Like Creole, for one!

I think that too Smiley Anything that's not English, basically, would be good with me- and anything in my familiar languages would be just fine Smiley

I was thinking about things like that, too. Like a shopping bag, with lots of different languages on it, with the names for foods.

I wouldn't mind the slightest if I don't get partnered for any of my top 3 languages, any new language is fine by me!

What about patterns and stuff? I have toooons of Burda magazines from the 90's in portuguese and spanish, as well as patterns for cross-stitch and crochet! I'm mentioning this because I remember I used to love to "read" my grandma's old Burdas in german (she used to be a seamstress and back then there were no translations). I'd just look at the pictures and try to figure out what the words meant  Tongue

I've done that as well - but for Indonesian pattern drafting books. I have a couple, and of course the words used are so specialised they don't appear in my usual dictionaries. No extra points for the fact that the words that are used are pretty much Dutch in origin.....

More updates and PMs to be sent after we watch 'Anchorman'.
