I'm amending this post because I've FINALLY gotten around to finishing up this bag. Instead of making the two handles dictated by the pattern, I just made one. I lined the bag and the handle with an old shirt that got a sharpie mark on it. I really like the color of the shirt, so I decided to recycle it as the lining.

It's Jenny Lewis from Rilo Kiley, my number one, all time, most favorite band/leadsinger ever! (That's her in my avatar)

I love the colors. I don't know why I never thought of doing a poster girl. There's way more cool girls to choose from.

OOOOH good job Sara! It turned out great! To address your question, I haven't noticed any fair-isle warpage on the sweater I'm working on, but then again that was over a much smaller area. Anyway, yay!

Thanks Elish! I'm inclined to believe that the twisting (you can kind of see in the picture that the stitches are a bit...wavy) has to do with the tension of the yarn carried along the back. I switched to the two handed method about 1/3 of the way through, and I think that might have something to do with it. Anyway, I still have to line the bag and the handle, but I'm waiting on that till I get home from school.

Yeah, I wasn't even trying to mess around with that two hand method, because you KNOW I am not that coordinated. I just made sure to leave the yarn nice and loose as I carried it along the back of the work. Really though, I can't even see any waviness. The lining will probably help too.

The 2 handed method is AWESOME! Seriously, you should definitely try it, as it is soooo much quicker than one handed. Maybe you can make a poster____ bag too. It is worth it to learn this technique (which I am positive you ARE coordinated enough for!) I am in love with it. Also, I am in love with the herringbone stitch. So. Full. Of. Love...
