I told mamarose22 that I would post pics of the mosaic tray I made for her.

This is actually before I did the final clean-up of the tiles and glass pieces but you can tell basically how it looks, there's just a little grout left in places where it shouldn't be:

Here is a close-up of what is supposed to be a rose in the middle.  This was my first attempt at creating an actual image in a mosaic.  Normally I just try abstracts.  I think it would have been better if I'd used a different color grout for the rose than for the remainder of the tiles.

Very pretty!  Great job!  I have been waiting for her to receive so we could share in the crafting mishap you had. Glad that it was not serious.  Anything in the eye is painful and scary.

I'm glad you posted these Gamemom.  Your pictures are better than what I (er, my daughter) would have posted.  Thank you again for the lovely tray.  I think I might even hang it up,  It is pretty and the tray makes a perfect frame for the mosaic.

I had a pyrex dish explode while working on my partners things!  Shot glass six feet across the room, with me but inches away! I was lucky to get out with only a few scratches.  I hope you came out as lucky!

I'm so glad you like it!  Hanging it is a perfect idea, what kind of mounting would you use?

Yikes, my incident wasn't nearly as scary as shards of glass shooting around the room.  Just did a dumb thing and blew grout dust ( and a couple of small chunks) off the tray and straight into my eye.  The worse part was the embarrassment of explaining to my eye doctor what I did.

Lovely - I love roses and mosaics. I have a mosaic mirror in different shades of green a friend made for us as a wedding present.

Being that it is a wooden tray, I would just screw those little tiny eyes in the corner.  I already have some and I have the picture wire also.  You just thread the wire through the tiny eyes and twist the excess wire to fasten it off.  It comes in little kits with bulldogs in it also.
