first off, wow, IRL i really thought these made me look a little LESS wide than i am.  but apparently they make me look even wider.  oh well.

i made wrap pants following those tutorials online. a famous one is by LauPre, i suppose all here have seen it.

back

ok i look like a fat clown in them. no, a fat hippie clown. but hey, that's my culture.  Grin  Wink

i'm just proud i made pants because i was always told that it was the hardest thing to sew (of course, not these kind, that's why i did them) and i could never make pants. well hey, i made pants!

oh yeah this was a bedspread, then it was curtains, now it's pants. green in more ways than one!

(please excuse cut/paste from flickr posting)

I made a pair of those wrap pants and they are so comfy that I don't care how I look in them.

I think you did a great job. Maybe if you paired them with a more shaped shirt the contrast in fit would help you look slimmer despite the pants.

Very chic. Wink I like the stripey fabric. For some reason I always think burlap-y or linen when I think of wrap pants. D:

I think I"ll convert to hippie-clownism.
You guys look like you're pretty awesome.

thank you!  i have actually worn these crazy pants out, twice... once to the post office (ironically, to mail swaps!) and also to the chinese restaurant today.  i decided they work better with the outer flaps opening in the front like the other people wore them.  that way the flaps don't get all bent up weird when you sit on them, or if they do you can't tell cos it's inside the back of your legs.

i almost finished the other pair, the wear-to-work pair.  i will post them under another place, though, because they are not recycled.

i'm actually making a tube waistband, and putting elastics in mine.  that way whatever parts of my shape doesn't agree with the pattern, gets evened out by the gathers.  plus i don't have to tie them (klutz factor!)  it works cos i only have longer shirts; i never wear shirts that show the waist of my pants.

Nice pants!  I checked out the tute and it doesn't seem like this is a difficult project to finish--is it?
