Wow I haven't posted here in a loooong time!

My little sister and I made this for the 5 year olds birthday next weekend.  He chose a Knights theme!  It turned out bigger than I thought it would.  It's huge, over 5 feet long.  But the kids will be exited.

Here's ALL the party pics: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=305416.0

that's awesome! But I can't imagine letting a bunch of 5 year olds smash it to bits! Well, maybe I can, if it were my daughter, I guess I'd let her. It'd be hard to hand over that bat though! Hope the party goes great! Will you post pics of the event so we can see the whole theme put together?

Those kids are going to think slaying a BIG dragon like that is SO COOL!! What a great memory for them! It will be the highlight of the party. Just for authenticity, you should fill it with Atomic Fireballs.

Lucky kids!  Is there a sword to use on it?

Shame though, to have them bash it up, looks like you put some hard work into that!

I will be sure to put up pics in the party planning section on Sunday.  We are making a castle for the kids to play in and I might try to be brave and do a castle cake.  He is so excited!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!  We are trying to make a wooden sword to hit it with, if not, a kids baseball bat will have to do!

Stunning job!!  I couldn't hit this, but I bet your kids will have a GREAT time!

LOL, we had a birthday party at an SCA event many years back, and tried to think what pinata would be good for the adults to hit.  Barney, of course!  We had a good old fashioned Barney Bashing!  The scariest part was, we hid the pinata in MY tent, and I'm mortally afraid of that purple demon.  I awoke in the night to find it staring down at me.... [shudder] TERRIFYING!

We filled the pinata with candies and cloven fruits.  It held together really well even with the big boys whacking at it!  In the end, the birthday boy got the tail, which he mounted and hung above his desk at work!

Worth it!  Pinatas are ALWAYS worth it!
