Fiber Friday 5.8.09 @#$%*!

Happy day we all look forward to for our fiber fixes!
I've been stuck in my apartment for the past almost two weeks with a horrible cold that then turned into a bacterial sinus infection, fun fun fun....so I was doing a bit of spinning here and there when I had energy to treadle.


Arabian nights, like Arabian days
300+ yards Shetland with gold angelina single spun
This will soon be a practice scarf in preparation for Sheep to shall 09! Woot!


Cyberia
400+ yards Shetland and Merino single spun with green firestar and gold angelina.
I spun this for my boyfriend. He's one of those dudes that's too cool for a scarf in the cold winter so I thought maybe if I spun him some yarn, learned to crochet and crocheted him a mobius neck warmer he'd feel all bad ass and actually wear it....well when I gave it to him he thought it was really cool. He couldn't believe the colors I used cause they were totally his favorites......imag ine that. Then I looked at him in that way of "Oh my, your brains might be mush some of the time but I love you anyways" He was shocked to hear I created it with him alone in mind.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME....!!!



My gorgeous new Ashford Traveller, which I have named Caroline, stained BLUE (!!!) and finished and assembled. Now all that's needed is to tighten up some screws and oil this baby up.


No yarns from me this week, obviously, I've been abstaining since I knew this was going to be ready today. :]

omg Oddacity,  wow.  thats a gorgeous color!!


this yarn is now the best yarn I have made to date.  I'm sooooooo proud of it.  I thought about calling it hoarfrost, but then it doesn't have any sparkle other then the beads on the thread.  so I'm just going with Winter Morning.   It is 80%angora and 20% merino Lamb.  Its ridiculously soft.  116yards, 2oz.  I've got another 2oz single on the bobbin that will be turned into this too,  just need to find those beads again... LOL  Anyway, on with the picture!

And these are some I did a while back but didn't take pics of until now. (not the best pic but oh well.)  They are lace/fingering weight, BFL,  one is 3 ply, one is 2 ply and then the left over single




I do have another, but it is for a swap, and I have a feeling that scotskipper checks this thread out every week, so I'll wait until she receives.

Bumbo - another name for a marble. I used to collect marbles when I was a kid and was inspired by finding my old collection.


Moss - 185 yards - romney, falkland, and corriedale



Not named - I was inspired this week to spin a two ply as I always seem to spin thick and thin singles. I think that I might make the hat out of Intertwined with it. Love it!

I should learn how to ply one day, I totally don't get it and it would be cool to be able to ply with thread and add beads and that - though I do love me my singles!
