Happy day we all look forward to for our fiber fixes!
I've been stuck in my apartment for the past almost two weeks with a horrible cold that then turned into a bacterial sinus infection, fun fun fun....so I was doing a bit of spinning here and there when I had energy to treadle.

Arabian nights, like Arabian days
300+ yards Shetland with gold angelina single spun
This will soon be a practice scarf in preparation for Sheep to shall 09! Woot!

Cyberia
400+ yards Shetland and Merino single spun with green firestar and gold angelina.
I spun this for my boyfriend. He's one of those dudes that's too cool for a scarf in the cold winter so I thought maybe if I spun him some yarn, learned to crochet and crocheted him a mobius neck warmer he'd feel all bad ass and actually wear it....well when I gave it to him he thought it was really cool. He couldn't believe the colors I used cause they were totally his preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'favorites......imagine') that. Then I looked at him in that way of "Oh my, your brains might be mush some of the time but I love you anyways" He was shocked to hear I created it with him alone in mind.  Roll Eyes

The man himself modeling for me.

Dark Thoughts
10 yards...ha! Shetland and purple reflects blue angelina
My first try at Super Coil

Velveeta
Shetland and bronze angelina 2-ply (it's a little golder in color in person)
Messing about with more "thorough" color blending on my carding combs

Tricksy and False
Shetland with purple reflects blue angelina 2-ply

Amoxicillin
Shetland purple reflects blue angelina 2-ply

Can't wait to see everything else this week!!!

the Arabian one is just gorgeous! I want it [grin] I finished some yarn today! But it's for a swap, so I shouldn't ruin the surprise. I'm very proud of it, though.

No need to kick, here I am again. Cheesy

I have recently been in the mood for thin, summery silk and soy silk yarns, like these:

Green hand dyed and handspun soy silk:

... and Firenze, a pure hand dyed Tussah silk

I also spun a few artier yarns:

Cocoon, Merino/silk with linen

Electric indigo, Hand dyed Merino wool with Wensleydale locks

The green flash, Merino/silk with gem stone beads

Ocean

yay! I love fibre fridays. Smiley

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME....!!!

My gorgeous new Ashford Traveller, which I have named Caroline, stained BLUE (Cheesy!!!) and finished and assembled. Now all that's needed is to tighten up some screws and oil this baby up.

No yarns from me this week, obviously, I've been abstaining since I knew this was going to be ready today. :]

omg Oddacity,  wow.  thats a gorgeous color!!

this yarn is now the best yarn I have made to date.  I'm sooooooo proud of it.  I thought about calling it hoarfrost, but then it doesn't have any sparkle other then the beads on the thread.  so I'm just going with Winter Morning.   It is 80%angora and 20% merino Lamb.  Its ridiculously soft.  116yards, 2oz.  I've got another 2oz single on the bobbin that will be turned into this too,  just need to find those beads again... LOL  Anyway, on with the picture!

It can be yarn cowl!

And these are some I did a while back but didn't take pics of until now. (not the best pic but oh well.)  They are lace/fingering weight, BFL,  one is 3 ply, one is 2 ply and then the left over single

I do have another, but it is for a swap, and I have a feeling that scotskipper checks this thread out every week, so I'll wait until she receives.

anyway happy fiber friday.

Hey all!

Have a few this week.

Bumbo - another name for a marble. I used to collect marbles when I was a kid and was inspired by finding my old collection.

Moss - 185 yards - romney, falkland, and corriedale

Not named - I was inspired this week to spin a two ply as I always seem to spin thick and thin singles. I think that I might make the hat out of Intertwined with it. Love it!

I should learn how to ply one day, I totally don't get it and it would be cool to be able to ply with thread and add beads and that - though I do love me my singles!

Happy Friday!!!

First up is 3 "Single Scoop" Corespun yarns. (I call my 1oz. spins single scoops!)

This is "Teddy Bear" From a 2oz batt I blend including Merino, Silk, Shetland, Alpaca, and Angelina. SOOO soft!

And finally my yarn from Jazzturtle's My Little Pony SAL! I plied with some metallic silver bling yarn and added about 2oz total of 4 different colors hand dyed merino and when I came to those stripes of color I made HUGE granny stacks! I had to push them through the orifice on my Lendrum jumbo bobbin then were so big! There are random coils in there too and some humongo spots of glitz and bling! I think I got about 100 yards in the 2 skeins.

I haven't been spinning at all lately and when I don't spin I end up forgetting to look at the Fiber Friday threads.  I should have some yarn next week, I just bought a ton of fiber!  Anyway, beautiful yarn, everyone, and I love the blue stain on the Ashford wheel, so pretty.

TROGDOR!!! (preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'www.homestarrunner.com')/sbemail58.swf) Ha, these are so flippin awesome. I have a major problem with never making enough of my handspun to make anything cool out of it. I ALSO need to invest in a jumbo bobbin.
