My advice re: the broccoli hair:
*NEVER MENTION IT AGAIN!* (lol)  I never would have thought broccoli until you said it!!

Remember when we make something we are staring at it for hours and hours, no one else looks at it that long.  You know how you can stare at anything and it looks weird after awhile? well, it only looks weird to the person doing the staring, not anyone else.

Anyway, I mean that all as encouragement, your portraits are awesome!

I am so amazed by this sibling project and I'm certain if my mom saw it, she'd want her own set as well.
So absolutely, perfectly executed!

When I saw the verdancy I assumed it was a Hulk reference, which I totally understood, seeing as it's a portrait of a brother!

I was a child of the 60's, and your style in these pieces reminds me so much of some of the artwork in the Beatle's "Yellow Submarine".  I didn't think broccoli at all, I thought of sound waves!

I too vote for a tutorial...I would love to do my husband and sons' portraits like this!

These are amazing! Absolutely beautiful! Such a beautiful tribute to your family. I don't think the hair is veggieish. I think it would be though if you added more lines. Really I didn't see it at all until you said it and I still don't see it much at all after. I love his eyes too and the expressiveness you managed to capture. He looks like a very nice fun person the way you portrayed him.
