I made this little girl for Sugary Sweet, because she was so kind after I posted Diamond to send me not only the doll needles I needed but the lovely alova suede and eyes and buttons and felt. My goodness.

I just wanted to thank her and I know she has received this girl, so I wanted to post pictures to show my first attempts and poppet fashion.

Here she is

Back view

Here is her pretty face.

Her dress is some shiny sequined fabric, and the top part is actually the selvage. I put micro sized hooks and loops for fastening. The purse is made of felt embellished with a feather and a glass marble. Thanks for looking. I'm proud as she was the second one I made and the alova was much easier to work with.

Oh they are names for girls  LOL  Bien is pronounced "Bee-in"  and Bianka is pronounced as "Bee-ahhn -kah"  I believe both are of german origin.

She is so pretty.  Was the material for the dress hard to work with.  I have something simular in my stash and thinking of making something with it.

This sequined material was very stretchy which was a good thing as I sewed it by hand. I just made a tube inside out, pinned, and trimmed and sewed. Like I said the top portion was a selvege edge that I thought just looked nice. When I was making the tube though I did flare out to get a wider skirt. Then just trimmed in lace at the bottom and attached a matching ribbon for the belt. Took me all night, as I have tired eyes and the hooks were so tiny.

I wouldn't attempt this for a human. Undecided
