I swear I'm not any sort of lighting expert. But when The challenge was issued I really wanted to do something to do with lighting and easter eggs.
Oh my pics are taken with a camera phone as my real camera is broken. I had hubby take them so they came out pretty good though!
So my original idea was to use those christmas sting style lights and carve designs into the plastic eggs. But I had the worst time finding a string with more than 10 and less than 70 lights on it.
So plan b. I saw this on the boards:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=300271.0
And with that I set about to make my lamp:

My project only cost me the price of the eggs. A friend gave me the light part, and the "base" is cardboard covered in tissue paper. Basically this lamp cost me about 1.00. I just need a better place to put it....
And I think next year I need more eggs. Unless someone wants to send some to me. It just isn't "full" enough.

I <3 it! It looks so eerie, but in a good way- if you get what I mean. I wish I could get motivated enough to do something for myself! I had an idea for the challenge but let it pass me by  Undecided

That's a great idea. I had originally planned to put these lights into my bat poi that are activated when they spin but they couldn't be found (a relative is going to give them to me if they ever turn up). =D

I had the worst time finding the light part myself. Luckily after going to both target, and wal*mart, then tried hobby lobby with no luck. I got lucky and a friend had this one and even gave me an extra. If not for that this would be nothing but a mobile.
I wonder what the deal is with lighting and not being able to find stuff? I originally was looking for the piece used in those Chinese style lanterns. Couldn't find it at all.

Yep that's what I figured. I know they have lamps like I was thinking of too. And then I was like, man I could have ordered one if I'd only known....
Oh well it made things interesting!

Oh Elia, I love it. I am such a sucker for lamps. LOL, electricians just put a chandelier in my bathroom, and maybe I should hang eggs off of it. I have plenty left over. Can't wait to vote.

I especially like anything that has an ambient feel to it. Where are you going to put it.

I robbed peter lamp to make paul lamp if you know what I mean, so thrift or yard sale lamps usually have all of the pieces you need. I priced kits at home dpt today and it was ridiculous.

I don't know if I would add more eggs. I might just place them so they hung in a circle like a shade.
