Trying to thinking of a birthday gift for a childhood friend today I remembered the totally rad plastic charms we used to collect on necklaces.  I wish I still had mine (and who knows they might be somewhere in my mother's house) but I'd really love to get my hands on some now.  I checked eBay and was horrified by the asking prices I saw ($39.99-really? I know they're "vintage" now, but come on!) so I was wondering if anyone out there had any other ideas.  I wouldn't even mind doing some assembly if I could find the right kind of chain, hooks, etc.

Thanks!

funny you mention those..I sometime think I was the ONLY one that collected those since everything else 80's have come back around except for those..weird..

so a few months ago I did a search for those..

I used '80's plastic charms' and some call it 'plastic charms with bells' or 'plastic bell charms' I had some hits but since I had NO real reson to purchase them than for myself I didnt bother..

good luck on the search let us know what you find..

I see them on Etsy too. Just make sure to search under "vintage".
