I couldn't think where else to put this..so here it goes..

Through post stalking I found that my swap partner wanted a pincushion and a needlebook. I remembered one that was in my mother's sewing box, that the design could easily be adapted to incoporate the two.

This was the original vintage needlebook.

This is my version, with a pincushion top bit..

..and the needlebook bit inside!

Unfortunately I don't own any pinking shears, or I would have made the rim zig zagged, like in the original. I made the part where a head would go, bigger, to fit more pins, and also because the first one looked a bit odd, whith it's ultra wide brim! Tongue

That's adorable, and very nicely done!  I might have to make one of these so I stop losing needles in the depths of my pincushion.  Roll Eyes

You did a great job!
It's pretty and functional (and better than the original).

Yeah, way better than the original - and actually I think I prefer it without the zigzags, too.

(Huh. I went stalking you again for some last-minute extra ideas for your package, and ended up commenting on all your posts about the things you sent me and looking lame. Oh well!)

When she was good, she was very very good - but when she was bad she was fabulous.
