For Halloween, I made my own costume (Poison Ivy!) and I also did a costume for my friend, who went as Bjork. My boyfriend went as Ned Flanders :-)

Even though I liked my costume a lot, my friend's Bjork costume was definitely the hit of the evening. He ended up winning Funniest Costume at a bar contest. I won Sexiest! Sadly I dont have any good pics of my final costume, but Ive got plenty of my friend.

First, we bought a handmade tutu from someone on Ebay. I could have made one easily by taking strips of tulle and knotting them around a braided ribbon, but I dont have a good fabric store nearby and I was running low on time.

Next, I took a pair of white tights and stuffed one of the legs with craft filling and cut off the other. Then I sewed black beads on for eyes. I made a beak with a sheet of orange felt and attached it to the end of the tight leg to finish the head.

I cut a triangle of fabric off of a white tshirt to make the body of the swan. Then, I took a white boa and covered the white triangle. I just used large whipstitches so it didnt take much time at all. I then safety-pinned the body to the skirt.

Here is a final (and deeply disturbing) shot. We topped it off with makeup and a black wig. The socks were his idea. Honestly, I am glad he elected not to shave. I think it adds to the effect.

Hope you enjoy!
