My first finished quilt! I love the Japanese fabrics, but a Liberty one also snuck in. Pieced by me, professionally quilted.

I have since added binding. The backing is the same shot cotton that makes up one of the smallest square patches - the green/blue of this fabric looks great with the tight machine quilting! I'm very excited. It's spurred me on, and I now have three in progress! Woo!

It looks just lovely, and I can't wait to see the rest when they are finished.  About how big is this one?

Ooooh I love this. Great job. I've recently started piecing quilts together myself. I haven't decided if I'm going to take the plunge and quilt myself or if I'm going to have mine professionally done.

this looks great!  Love the fabrics you chose.

Professional quilting?  I didn't know this was being done.

Your quilt is pretty.

Thanks all!

The quilt is a double bed size - I haven't measured it I have to say!!

By professional quilting, I mean that I put together the top, then paid someone to quilt it with an industrial sized machine.

That's my next challenge - do learn how to use my machine to quilt my own quilt!
