I had a baby shower for my friend today.  She has 6 weeks left and does not know what she is having so we had a blue and pink party.  It was very small with only 6 of us there and very basic but I thought I would share anyway.

I made most of the food.  There were vanilla cookies, white chocolate mudcake 3d cupcake cake, puff pastry scrolls, sandwichs (egg & lettuce, ham & cheese, cucumber).  Then we had jatz with cheese and cabanossi, doritos, dips and lollies.

I also made a congratulations banner to hang above the table.

This is a close up of the cupcake cake that I made.  I made it using a Wilton 3D cupcake tin.

And these were not made but they were just too cute not to put a photo up.

Comments and criticism much appreciated.

OHHhhh looks like a totally great party Smiley I love the happy colors and the food looks super yummy! The cupcake cake is amazingly beautiful and I am sure tasted amazing....my only feedback, next time dont use disposable plates and cups....BAD BAD for the earth Sad I think you could have stayed within theme and used your regular dishes, if they clashed in color just add more of the theme colors and it will kinda balance things out.

PS I love that your friend doesnt know the sex of the baby, I didnt either when I had my little person....its not a common thing to do these days, so props to your friend

ooh i love the cupcake cake (and awesome use of the pink licorice ...i think thats what it is right?)
How did you make the banner? I'm throwing one this weekend for my SIL and I want to make a banner to put on her garage. It looks like computer paper, layered with construction paper, printed with a giant letter. OR it could be computer paper printed with a letter and a big square of color??

I just used computer paper and then glued a square of coloured paper on top.  Then i printed out the letters and cut them out and glued them onto the coloured paper.  Then I just strung it onto ribbon.  It was pretty easy.

I love the way you mixed the classics with the modern. Pink and blue for a baby shower, what could be more perfect? And the cupcake cake is just so right now. Beautiful. Very pretty banner, also.

I'm sure your friend was thrilled!
