In the past it was also supposed to be only acrylic, though I don't mind that not being there, but I think if anyone has any fiber allergies (wool, alpaca), then they should note that in their questionnaire.

All motifs MUST be made in 4-ply worsted weight yarn, or if you're in the UK the yarn equivalent will be 10-ply aran.  Please be sure to check your gauge to make sure your motifs are the correct size.  We wouldn't want to receive some motifs that are 1 1/2" and some that are 2 1/4". Your motifs should measure 1 1/2" to 1 3/4".  Size is important!!!   REMEMBER:  It only takes a few minutes to make one granny’s daughter. If you get started when you sign up, you’ll have the bulk of the work done by the time partners are assigned  Wink

Hopefully this helps Cheesy

Duh! I can't believe I missed that... Tongue I must've read the bit about the gauge and skipped right over the rest.

Once partners are assigned, feel free to communicate with your partners to see if they mind any other types of yarn. As myklia said, some folks don't mind other types!

And, I really need to get started on mine Wink

My mom and I are going to a free local concert tomorrow night and ever since I learned knitting, I have a heard time just sitting there with my hands doing nothing.  Sounds like a perfect opportunity to make some granny daughters to me.  Wink Cheesy

I always mean to bring them with me to places, but unless I'm trapped in one spot (like on a plane), I never seem to get any made anywhere but at home Wink

I have my bag all set and ready to go, I just need to remember the bag.  In the bag I have the necessary crochet hook, scissors, and 4 to 5 skeins of Red Heart in yummy variegated colors (it does soften up in the wash).  I also have worsted weight wool, but I'll wait to find out who my partners are for that to make sure they are ok with wool.

Two evenings of crocheting & I've got 84 done.  Maybe I should have requested a 3rd partner.  Ah well, they're divied up into 3 seperate baggies so we each get some of my fave yarns.  I've already finished off 3 little leftover skeins.  Another sitting or two & I'll meet the 120.  We'll see if my color choices will work for my partners.  Wouldn't it just be a crying shame if I had to keep an extra baggie of my fave yarn for myself and be forced to shop for yarn?  Not!

The idea in the past, and it was discussed for the first round, was that you just take what you were given because it may be too hard for some people to buy new yarn to suit their partners taste.  This was supposed to be more of a stash buster.  Now that doesn't mean people didn't buy new yarn.  With all that said, this round I requested bright colors if at all possible.
