I teach preschool and my students were obsessed with plastic eggs as Easter approached. (I'm at a Christian school, so Easter is BIG). We had an egg hunt and I bought a ton of extra eggs in case some kids didn't bring theirs in. This also meant I had a ton left over! After doing art projects with them, I still had a ton left over! I wanted to use them for my classroom, so I created a matching game for the kids.

All of the eggs.

The idea is that they match the uppercase letter to the lowercase letter. The colors of the eggs help provide some scaffolding, so the students know what color egg half they are looking for. It also provides motor skill activity because those little suckers can be hard to put together!

They liked them so much that I made a math version also!

This is a great idea! I also love that the eggs are still usable for next year, if they make it through that is.  Wink

What a great way to motivate learning and achieve two goals (who hasn't had issues getting those opened in the desperate attempt for chocolate) . I wonder if they would work with root words and suffixes... (use to teach English  Wink )

I think it would work pretty well to do prefix and suffixes. My mom is using them to teach word families with lower elementary school aged children. You could basically do anything with them, even times tables or vocab.
