Hello all! I've searched all over for some plain old teddy bears like ones I used to get at Michael's a few years ago. They still have a few bears there, but none are like these (they're more obviously jointed with hips too big to look good in clothes, which is what I want them for).

Here's one of the ones I got from Michael's (unfortunately I gave this one away so I can't look at the tag!):

I've looked in Michael's & Joann with no luck, plus extensively online. Surely you can still buy them like this! All I can find is ones like this, which is what I don't want:

They don't have to have hair as long as the first one, but I just want one that's kind of slim and soft like that. If anyone could help me with this, I would appreciate it soooooo much. Thanks!

I think I might actually have some of these bears in my craft room!  I was doing craft shows for awhile and made some bear clothes - they didn't sell sadly but I still think I have the new bears still with tags on them in my craft room!  I'll have to dig them out of a box and try to remember to look at the tags to get the brand for you!  I am almost positive that I have these bears!!

I did locate one of the bears that I have here - and the tag is still on it - it isn't exactly like the one you have but I want to say it was like 2 or  bucks when I bought it.... The tag says Nicole quality value and here is their website - they are not an online retailer though.  http://www.nicolecrafts.com/default.asp

When I look at my bear I'm not sure if it is the same kind as the one you used to get.  This one has a weighted bottom so he can sit nicely....

I have seen the ones at the Dollar Tree and they are really sharp.  My mom has bought several for grandkids and made outfits for them and they hold up well and come in a wide variety of colors and whatnot.  I'd definitely check the Dollar Tree if I were you.

Oh - I used to get my bears from AC Moore.  I'm not sure if you have one of them near you or not.  I will be going to an AC Moore when I'm on vacation in a few weeks - as well as Ikea... and Joann's and ... and... and... yeah.  A bit of a shopping spree you could say!

I will check my Hobby Lobby for your bears next time I'm there - they have a good supply of doll stuff.
Sorry.  I'm turning out to be of little help. Sad

No, actually you've been very helpful! I'll definitely check Dollar Tree. We used to have an AC Moore but it closed. The nearest Hobby Lobby is a couple hours away too. But we have Dollar Trees everywhere, so I'm glad to know they might have them there. Thanks! =D

Okay, I found the ones at Dollar Tree. They're OK, but the ones I found are a little smaller and not quite the quality of the ones I used to get. Still, it's better than nothing! Thanks for your help in finding these.. and if anyone else knows of any closer to the ones I used to get, I would definitely appreciate the info!
