Do you guys think this is too "old" for a 2 1/2 year old? The wall with his name on it needs something to the right of his name but I'm not sure what, without distracting from his name...any suggestions?

Whoa!  Color overload.  A great looking paint job.  And I love the shelves.  I'll bet your toddler loves it.

That is gorgeous!!
I wouldn't say it's too old personally, lots of colours and at least you know it won't be outgrown in a few years, easy to add to to incorporate new interests etc
First thought for next to his name was a car (or maybe that's due to having a car obsessed toddler lol)
Good job, wish I could do half as well lol

That's awesome Smiley
I don't think it's too old! It's really bold, which he won't grow out of.

What about something like this:

Maybe do the rocket in blue/yellow or green/yellow, though just to make it stand out more.  Thoe oddly enough, I like it in the red/yellow on the red wall.  ALso I think the cloud of poof kinda balances out rthe white cog on the other side.  I dunno, just something I threw together; the blue makes me think of sky, and the little lightning jags kinda make me think "spacey".

I don't think this is too old for a 2 1/2 yr old either.  Its one of those rooms that he can grow with for awhile, though!

HTH Smiley

Thank you all for your input!  He's been in his rooms several months now and it's grown on me since we first finished it.  And most importantly he loves it.

I LOVE the rocket idea! I also thought about a very large black and white photo of him...on canvas maybe?

wow amazing! i don't think it's too old at all, he'll be 3 before you know it any way. the x affect you did on the ceiling makes it look almost like it's vaulted, what a cool affect! a room he can grow in too! great job!

Great job on his room!  He can definitely grow with this room and change up decor items as he gets a bit older.

teehee...I have to give credit where credit is due and my hubby is the one who came up with the idea for the ceiling!  He actually had a lot of great ideas for this room. Thank goodness one of us is creative   Smiley
