Thanks guys!  I did get an A on this project.  The even better news is that I entered it in a Regional Juried Art show and.......it was accepted!  Amazingly enough, all four of the pieces I submitted were accepted.  I submitted this clock, the 3D illustration I did for the Craftster Craft Challenge 36 (Welcome to My Nightmare), a charcoal I did of a friend milking her goats and a watercolor I did of a water market scene from a photo my husband took in Thailand.  I can hardly wait to attend the opening next Friday!!

I think you did a great job.  I also like the contrast of the whimsical nature of the piece itself, but depicting such a grim reality.

It's currently hanging at a juried show in Grand Rapids.  I spoke with one of the judges at the opening and was surprised that she mentioned that she seriously considered it for 1st place.  Nice boost to the ego!
