Swap name:  Send Me on a Virtual Vacation
Craftster member who is organizing this swap:  barbolot
Craftster member who is co-organizing: Ewulotta
Sign-up date range: 5/01/09 - 5/15/09
Date to send item by:  6/26/09 (EXTENDED!)

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional):  NO

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO

Age requirement?  18 and up

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 13 years old: YES
- Participant lives in the United States: YES/NO
   - If yes, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: YES
   - If no, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: YES

Details of swap:
Do you dream of sandy beaches, post-card sunsets and the sound of the ocean?  Or maybe you dream of fresh mountain air, a crackling campfire and the sound of crickets lulling you to sleep?  Perhaps you dream of an easy ocean cruise, lounging on the deck with a frosty beverage in your hand?  Whatever your dream vacation is, this swap is all about indulging that dream -- even if only in a virtual sort of way!

In this swap, you will craft a large bag tailored to your partner's liking, such as a tote, beach/pool bag, or simple backpack, and fill it with dream vacation essentials.  The vacation essentials can be handmade and storebought, with at least 50% being handmade.  Spoiling is fine and encouraged, as long as it's agreed upon by both partners! Smiley

This is a 6 point swap, including the bag you make (which would be a large part of your points.)
Please make sure you can commit to a swap of this size, both in time and cost, before signing up.
Swap packages can include any number or size of items as long as they add up to at least 4 points:
3 pts = large
2 pts = medium
1 pt = small

And here are the Craftster guidelines for item sizes:
LARGE:  3 or more hours, $30 or more (a shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse)
MEDIUM  = 2 to 3 hours, $10-$30 (a scarf, a simple bag)
SMALL  = less than 2 hours, less than $10 (earrings, a wallet)

These size guidelines are very subjective, so be sure to communicatie with your partner to decide how much to send.  Be sure to agree on the amount of time, money, and effort you want to spend for this swap.    If you or your partner want to make something that requires more time or effort than we usually think of for a large item this point system gives you a little room.  But PLEASE be sure to consult with your partner!

A bit more SWAP INFO:
**DCN's will be required.  If you are an international swapper, you MUST keep your shipping receipts.
**I check PMs and update feedbacks in the evenings, so please bear with me.
**You will be given feedback once your partner receives, and photos of your package are posted in the gallery, preferably by your partner.

Be sure to post in this thread at least once a week to foster good communication and to let me know that you're still alive and kicking.  And crafting.

ooooooh, this is so tempting!  I'd sworn off swaps for awhile, but this might pull me out of it.  This is an awsome theme!  I'd love a virtual Tokyo vacation!

I'll swap for postcards, badges, maps or brochures from everywhere in the US! I'm an English teacher and always happy about authentic material for my classroom.
