Update!  6/1/09 The entry folder is here!
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=426.0

Does your mailbox get bombarded with catalogs?  Did you order a single item from a company 100 years ago and they're still sending you catalogs to this day?  Well, now is your chance to do something constructive with them!  Your challenge this month is to craft something from any catalog you get in the mail.

You can make whatever you want with whatever supplies and techniques you want.  Just make sure you use parts of the catalog as the focal point of your project.

So start taking a second look at those catalogs before you recycle them and think about the clever things you could make with them!

Rules:

  • Post your craft during the period of Jun 1 - Jun 5 2009.  No sooner. No later.  On Jun 1 there will be a special folder created for entries.
  • Voting will happen from Jun 6 - Jun 12 2009.
  • Each participant can enter ONE project. (Although your entry can have multiple components to it.)

Originality:

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original and has never been posted on Craftster or made by anyone else in the past.  But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, then just give credit to that project.

Prizes:

At the end, I'll set up a poll right here and the first place winner will get...

(1) their project in the Featured Projects area
(2) their project in the Craftster Blog

And this prize (winner can receive prize in U.S. or non-U.S.):

Any one item from one of Craftster's online shops!

Hmmm... interesting....

Questions: Does it mean I can only use one single catalogue? And does it have to be an "uninvited catalogue"? Because I am lucky, I only get one kind of catalogue, and I actually want it Smiley But what about snatching a catalogue from someone else? Does it count if they got it in the mail? And, combined situation: What if they got it in the mail, and what if they requested to be sent to catalogue (yes, I have a specific example in mind, a friend who gts lovely catalogues on request for free while I would have to pay for them)?

And what counts as a catalogue? Several pages of advertising from the next supermarket isn't a catalogue, right?

Try using the search function on Craftster to dig up some ideas. Smiley  After all, being creative is part of the challenge!

I did a personal swap once where I ordered yarn from there and sent it directly to the person who was knitting the item for me.  Now they've got me in lockdown (aka, I haven't revisited their site to cancel it Cheesy).  I think their distribution center is really close to me, though, which is kinda neat.
