I haven't posted anything on Craftster in ages, so I thought I'd rectify this with some of my latest embroidery.

The elephant is a pattern from So september. I colored it in with crayons after embroidering. Should have done it before.

Vintage pattern from doe-c-doe. This was my first time filling in anything with stitches. It took forever.

Pattern from the Sublime Stitching Craft Pad. Done in DMC Light Effects. I didn't really like working with this thread - it's metallic and coarse, and rough, it separates and tangles. Basically a pain in every way.

Oh man, great job on the mushrooms! They're simply fantastic.  Fill-in stitches are the best.

I love the mushrooms!  So cute.  My favorite is the elephant, though.  Smiley

The elephant is so sweet and cute I need my insulin now.  Wink

But omigosh those wondrous little mushrooms...stunningly lovely!

Don't you dare give up on fill stitches....you'll get faster with practice and you're a natural at it anyway! Have you posted this on Hoop Love?  I'll bet Doecdoe would enjoy seeing your fantastic work!

I agree with you about the metallic thread.  I frequently like looking at it, but working with it makes me alternatively weepy and frustrated.

The mushroom piece is gorgeous, but you know . . . elephant!  Really, I love all three of your pieces.

Very cute and very well done. I agree about metalic floss. It is a pain.

Thanks everyone!
I've officially given up on metallic thread. Too bad because it's so pretty. But the shine is just not worth all the hassle.
