Hi,
This is my first post.  I am interested in joining this knitalong.  I bought the pattern and Rowan 4-ply cotton a couple of weeks ago, but haven't started knitting.  Just curious, were you able to get the gauge using US# 3?  I am usually a fairly loose knitter and yet I was up to 5s or 6s to get the gauge.  Did you wash your swatch?  Maybe that's where I'm going wrong.

I used a different yarn, but I also needed 5s to get gauge. Just use whatever gets you gauge as long as it looks decent with the yarn and the pattern. I was quite pleased actually that I didn't need to use such small needles.

I am both happy and sad to admit...Orangina is my longest standing UFO.  And it will most likely be until next summer...too many fun fall patterns and too much other exciting yarn to knit with...

Oh well.

I started mine last weekend with Elann.com's Endless Summer Lara in black.  My row gauge is off though so I think I may need more yarn.  Did anyone else use this yarn?  I thought someone on here had recommended it.

MerLeigh, I used the same yarn and I only had to use 3 skeins! My gauge was right on with size 3 needles.

Oh wow, I should have plenty then!  I actually bought more than I thought.  Thanks!

I finished mine!

I used Madil All Seasons Cotton from http://www.aswellyarnshop.com/cart/product.php?productid=16180&cat=0&bestseller

This fists very well, and yarn feels great!

I got gauge on size 3 and have been known to be a loose knitter, althought I am getting better.

All the finished Oranginas look so great. I'm pleased to report that I am finally done with mine.

I had a bit of trouble with the finishing (details on my knit blog), but I'm pretty happy with it. If I had it to do over again I would have chosen the smallest size and would have gone down two needle sizes, rather than one on the ribbing.
