well, actually they're polyester scarves but you'd never know lol! I saw a bunch of damamged scarves in a charity shop near my mum's house for 10p each (that's $0.20 ish). Being inspired by one of march's hot projects, the no pattern, whatever you can get hold of scarf I thought "wayhey!" and bought 5 of the scarves. I had a design in mind, I also had all the findings like the handles and such just sitting in my craftroom.

I ripped them into strips about 1/2" thick and then began a circular crochet of my own design, leaving a notch out of the top on each row....

I then repurposed a plastic hippy-bead necklace I've got and beaded the thing too. oh, and cut up an old nightie to line it with satiny fabric.

I'm not sure whether to keep it, I'm sooo in love with it, but my mum in law would also love it and hey I can always make another lol!

whole project took 5 hours or so.

i love how as a side effect of the ripping, this style of fabric looks like birds.
this especially shows up by the colors you chose.

creative criticism always appreciated!

OMG!!!!!! I LOVE this purse!! LOVE IT!! The colors and the textures are fantabulous! It makes me feel happy just looking at it hehehe! The beads are such a nice touch. I really love everything about it, it came together so well!!! Now I really wish I could crochet! I don't normally find many bags that I like, but this one really tops the charts! Excellent work!
