I'm not sure why the chains look blue/purple, they are definitely silver. I drew the owl one, and, wouldn't you know it, it sold within in an hour or two of putting it up. Woah, dude. I'm really happy with the way all of my necklaces are turning out, and I have to say I am quite addicted.

It's fairly easy, the trick is being able to find the metal backs. I've only been able to find them in the scrapbooking embellishments section at Paper Zone. It's a half hour bus ride for me to get those suckers!
