I wasn't sure whether to start this thread or not(I'm mostly a lurker and kinda shy Tongue), but I wanted to say a special thank you to all the ladies who contributed to the infinity dress thread(especially rowena/rostictchery) and a special thanks to rachelily who gave instructions on how she made a floor length version here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=245247.0.

My dresses:

The "skirt" portion was an a-line pattern measured from under the bust and was 50 inches long(I'm tall) and the straps were 12 inches wide and 90 inches long.

The blue fabric was from Hancock Fabrics and the yellow from Fabric.com. I'm in the process of learning how to use a sewing machine(I have no idea what kind to buy), and hope to make many more.

wow these look so professionally-done!

that's so cool that you can actually carry off a yellow dress.  it's like the statistically most people's unwearable color, so those who can are lucky.

personally, i also like that you showed some shoulder designs i would actually use and so this has made me think i might try this dress one day.  i'm not shaped for the sleeveless styles and so i didn't think i would ever try it.  but the far-left style of wearing the straps, even i could probably use!

These are beautiful!  I've made 2 knee-length infinities, but none long.  Could you post a tute on how to wrap some of those styles?  I'm not good at figuring out how to do different looks with an infinity.

These are great!

I've been trying to decide what length to go with for my bridesmaid dress I have to make for next month...you've sold me on the long!

Great work, the long style of the dress really pays with such a nice flowing fabric.

I also am looking for what would be a good sewing machine to get, the only one I have ever used was my mother's old sewing machine and it seemed to get the job down.

I have asked but the ones people recommended the most seem to be loaded with special features that need special needles, special threads, special bobbins, and hell special skill to work it.

I think the best bet would be to ask someone who does constant sewing.
