This was part of a textiles project at my college. Basically the brief was to design a mask or headdress based on the film The Wicker Man. If you havent seen the film its basically about a policeman who goes to investigate the disappearance of a girl on a remote Scottish Island. The people on the island are part of some weird religion/cult. In the film they have a May day parade and wear animal masks. Our masks had to be based on Scottish animals. I chose a stag and here you can see it being made in stages.

The basic skeleton made with wire and a glue gun.

With added tissue paper.

The head part which was painful wear so I had to put a cushion inside lol.

Since the Wicker man is based on a pagan religion I decided to do a sort of Celtic/pagan pattern on the deers head.

The finished piece!

Believe it or not one of my teachers wanted to buy this to wear out clubbing!

This is fabulous.  What did you use for the glassy parts of the antlers?  I can see where someone would want to wear it.  It's cool.

I actualy had to take apart some disco balls to make the antlers. Grin  It was very fun to make but also a bit sore at times with lots of wire and bits of glass.

That is fabulous.  It makes me want to make a disco stag-head to hang in the living room.
