*sniffs hair*
...Strangely enough... it doesn't smell of anything. Unusual in comparison to all the synthetic perfumes and things they put in shampoos and conditioners, but it doesn't really have a smell at all. Just smells like... hair, I suppose. Smiley

what does your hair smell like sans shampoo&conditioner?

that's the thing I would be worried about.

I can go 2 days without washing mine - but I can't take the funk after that - even if I don't use styling products.

Your hair is still being washed in water, you're just not adding all the freaky chemical stuff.

Scent-wise, it's like trying to pinpoint what your skin smells like without soaps and lotions on it.  It smells like human.  Right after my shower I can smell the minerals in our water on my hair, but that goes away pretty quickly.

I've heard that having the natural oils still there to protect it helps to keep your hair from picking up other scents,  like smoke and such.  I haven't been no 'poo long enough to test that theory, though.

OK, here is my son's new do. He wanted something diiferent for his last week in elementary school (he's 11)
Here is the before (taken just one day earlier)

Here is after I bleached his hair (he does not look good as a blond)

And finally, we were going for blue, and well yellow and blue really do make green, it is more aqua than green, it is very pretty color.

OK, here is my sons newest do:

I know, faux hawks are so trendy right now, but he's 11 and it's blue, so I think it's cool.
I did the color, I took him to get it cut and the girl at super cuts said I am the coolest mom she's ever met, made me blush.

my friend doesnt use shampoo, only conditioner
she goes on www.longhairforum.com and learned about it from there

her hair looks nice and clean Smiley

I actually don't use shampoo either, just conditioner.  Having curly hair, it doesn't retain moisture very well as it is, and using shampoo can add to that.  I haven't had any problems with it, and it's always clean.

I've heard though, that if you have curly hair and still want to use shampoo, like if you use a lot of products like gel or something and your scalp wants shampoo, you should put conditioner in your hair first to sort of block the shampoo from getting in, and then try to keep the shampoo mostly on your scalp while you're massaging it in.

But then again I DO still use clear Henna with Black tea and olive oil once a month unter a heat lamp.

I've never heard of this, whats it all about? I miss my pretty shiny hair. Yours look beautiful!

I use clear henna and olive oil with black tea instead of water to mix it all up.  It is sometimes difficult to apply but I have found if I puree it in a mixer and apply it with a color bottle it works ok.

I have done red in the past but honestly I wanted my chocolate highlights to come out so I used black China tea.

I only wash my hair once a week and I use dilluted hemp shampoo (Jason) and I condition almost every other day.

I think my hair is pretty!  I save  TON on shampoo and conditioner and color!

WOW HIS COLOR LASTED THAT LONG?

Well, we re-did it over the weekend, the first time we used manic panic (or should I say the Sally Beauty Supply version of manic panic), we went back to get some more and I saw some blue that is a permenent color (I dont know all my hair dresser lingo, but it was real stuff you mix with developer), and it turned out really well, I missed some spots the first time so we did it again, his hair is super tough, most people when you color their hair it gets all dry and brittle, his is still thick and feels super healthy, I did put a leave in conditioner (one of those 3 minute packs) just to be on the safe side. But his hair feels great, must be the injun in him, he's got good, healthy hair.
