Well, after battling since last march to find a cheap, GOOD stylist (i know it's an oxymoron, go away) who could actually do what I wanted with my hair, I had given up. Then suddenly my boyfriend's sister, who's style I love, mentioned that she cuts hair all the time and is going to Aveda Beauty School this fall. Woohoo! So probably Sunday, I'm getting a haircut I'll actually LIKE. I'll post after it's all done, and while I'm at it, I'll post a timeline of the not bad, but not what I wanted, haircuts I've had over the last year.

*sigh* I just learned the danger of dying my curly hair by myself - I thought I worked it in all the way but I still have roots showing now - and the Light Brown on the box turns out to be dark brown (almost black it seems) in my hair.  Next time I will definitely have some help me.

I feel like my hair is super dry...I think I am going to do some clear henna...

Even though I don't dye my hair anymore that itch to do SOMETHING with my hair is driving me insane...I wish I was the type who could cut my own hair...that would be brilliant.

Darn.

Oh well here I come HennA!

Yeah, I have the same situation.  I want to be all crafty and do the whole DIY thing, but I've a very full head on top of having curly and pretty thick hair.  I definitely need someone to help out.

I was having a very good hair day yesterday and took pics to show off! I've been growing my hair out for the past 5 years now. I started at 2" long and I'm at bra band length now. In that time I've had several "trims" from maybe a centimetre to the last one where she cut off oh, EIGHT INCHES. See, she decided that women with long hair should always have it layered. So without asking me if I'd like to go from "let's just clean up the dead ends" to "hey! Let's chop off years of growth at once" she takes a hank and cuts off 8" at once. Since that damage was done, I let her finish up the layering and making the back into a point job while trying not to cry (I was starting university for the very first time in a week. Bad time for a crap hair cut).

Problem is if my hair isn't washed, curl creme put in and scrunched, those layers become layers of fluff. I look like a poodle with a problem. Ahh well! Next time I'm going to have to say "no more than an INCH off. Period. No ideas."

No more talking, now it's time for pictures of my vanity!

A good idea of my colour, which is natual:

and how I wear it on non-poodle days!
