Guys & Gals, when you are quoting someone's post, please remove the img tag ( [img]),so that it doesn't eat up bandwidth. I'm going through all the past posts and editing them. Thanks.

I have a couple of questions. I want to get my hair dreaded, and a friend of mine offered to do it at her salon for $200. Is this too much money? I've always heard that doing them yourself is a bad idea as it's hard to space them out evenly on yourself. And the next question-please don't take this wrong. The said lady runs a salon where they mainly do african american peoples hair. Is it likely that they'll do a better job than the trendy, mainly young white girl salon? I hope that didn't come out sounding awful; I can't really explain it well. Tongue

hi killer threader! my hair is currently green and black, you'll be glad to hear that it lasts longer than the pink, purple and blue colours that ive had in my hair, well from my experience anyway but make sure you leave the green in for an hour at least, i usually leave in for 4 hours and it lasts about 2 months

good luck!!

thanks the only thing is I'm shit scared of bleach! stuff sounds horrible. I bleached moose hat's streak but it wasn't my own head! should I bleach the streaks first and then dye around or dye around patches and then bleach them? ughhh. should be fun going into work for the first time. one of my coworkers totally flipped out when I wore a sex pistols shirt in to check the roster. I hate her.

well i section off  bits of hair and bleach it, rinse that off then put in the black and green, what i do when i have roots i dont bleach all of the coloured bits just the roots, i use a leave in conditioner a few times a week and my hair has always been nice and soft, maybe its just my hair but ive been doing it for just over 3 years and im fine, if you still arent sure you better go to the hairdressers, thats what i done, then afterwards i touched it up myself, its easier because you just follow what they have done allready

I reckon once this dye fades out I'm going to whack a load of 6-9% on it and see what happens.

I'm a tad reckless with my hair. And restless into the bargain, which is not a good combination methinks.
