a brief history of Lauren via action shots I had lurking around my computer (the scraps, if you will)

this was bright bright bright red hair. it was beautiful. this picture does it no justice...
and I look like a doofus........ why did I post this?
(Nov. '02-Chicago)

then that was turned into a hawk (not pictured, which is a shame, because I laid my head on a scanner after I cut it. Alas, I believe that file has been lost forever in the mac lab at school)

So I had to grow the hawk out, but I kept some red
(Dec. '03-Italy)

growin' out a hawk is hard to do...
(Feb. '04-my bathroom)

then I started cutting my own hair and NOT in a hawk... bad move
(June '04-Courtesy Diner)

now entering present era...
"you look so good with blonde hair and black roots it's not even funny"
(Aug. '04-in bed, a very descriptive photo)

now I promise the blue was beautiful the first time (started dyeing my roots)
(Feb. '05-Diablo Ink, tattooing the duck of doom!)

my baby, me, and Jess (ironically, my hairdresser)
trying to get rid of that blue was torture, but it worked!
(Sept. '05-Halo Bar)

Next up? blonde, green, and black.
Now I just can't decide what hairCUT I want

sorry there were so many pictures, this is the most addictive thread EVER! thanks for looking

p.s. I actually smile... really I do quite a bit, unfortunately these pictures are not as representative as I'd like them to be, but it's all I've got for now!

sorry if this is a little off topic...

i'm going to be going to cosmetology school soon (yay!), and i'm really excited. but I have a question for you girls (or guys) out there that have gone or are going now... what kind of tips or advice can you give me that you wish someone would have given you?

i'm so stoked about going, and I know there's some of you craftsters out there (especially on this thread) that do hair, so lemme know!

also, if you know someone who does it, and you have maybe a tip or advice you can give me, i'll appreciate it. any thing. Smiley

thanks!

I got my cosmo license last August after completing a 1000 hour plus course. All I have to say is STICK WITH IT and DONT GIVE UP!!!! There are time where it may seem impossible to do things and you may have difficulties. Just try everything and practice. I remember many times I felt I wasnt good enough or I couldnt do something,  but I never gave up, and that I am proud of myself for. Dont let others belittle you in work work and your projects.....and finally ask everyone to do their hair...practice, practice, practice!!! Good luck!
