so since we're all on the hair subject, i have to rant...i've decided to cut my chin length bob with bangs to something short and fun...think when selma blair went short, but i'd spike it up a bit. so i'm all excited to do it, got my appointment at 11am tomorrow and half the people i tell i'm cutting my hair short, are like "really? why?" like because i'm a girl i should have long hair and it's supposed to be more feminine. i know so many girls who think short hair is butch and automatically assume a girl with short hair is a lesbian. and don't get me started on the guys i know. they are so pro long hair, it's disgusting. even my dad thinks my 50 year old mother should have long hair. get real.
sorry to go on about this but i'm frustrated. can't short hair be feminine and sexy???

Since I'm something of a metaller, most of my friends have the opposite problem- they're boys with long hair (which happens to be one of my famous fetishes, haha) and everyone keeps telling them to get it cut.
BUT THEY DON'T CARE. Grin
Primarily because the people who say that are idiotic lads who uniformly have hardly any hair (about 1", the same length as, well, ahem), regardless of whether or not it suits them.
So if long hair works on boys, there's no reason short hair shouldn't work on girls. I suppose some people just suit different styles, and if you suit it short, go for it. I would have mine shorter so it's less heavy and so I can spike it better (as it is, the best I can do with it is put it in bunches and backbrush them), but short hair doesn't go everywhere when you headbang. Grin

My hair freshly ironed

Natural, you can kind of see it. this was a few months ago, and about 7 colors ago.

Used to have hot pink on the sides of my face and about 3 inches of the tips, this picture doesn't do justice, you can't even see the pink Sad

You can see the highlights...

I'm dyeing my hair a lighter blonde-ish color and i'm rooting for pink again...

that was my favorite out of all the colors, and there have been many.. Shocked

ceana: have you tried cheap thrills on granville? i'm not sure if they have it there. i'm sure some store on granville street has it or maybe Cabbages and kinks (i think it's called that), the store that is next to where blunt brothers was.
good luck!

Ok, so my hair isn't quite as unique as everyone else's...but I still wanted to show it off. Last October I died my hair black and cut it in my dorm bathroom:

(me and my baby cousin natalie)

Then I had a horrible hair dye accident: I tried to lighten my hair back to brown, but hair lightener doesn't work on dyed hair (only on my inch long roots)! So I corrected it and bleached and dyed it dark auburn. I also got it trimmed and textured

Now I'm growing it out, and it's finally getting long enough to not drive me crazy!

...and finally just for kicks, here's a picture of when I dressed up like Clementine (from eternal sunshine of the spotless mind) for my boyfriend's birthday:

I have great hair. I'm not afraid to be proud of it. Its natural. I always knew the color was nice, but until recently i didnt know about how great its texture was. When i get out of the shower, if i just let it dry, its nice and wavy, but if i comb it, it looks like its been straightend. people ask me all the time if i straighten or curl my hair. it feels nice.

hair...

straight

from like september when my hair was like 5 inches shorter...on a wavy hair day. (with my baaaa...d camera.)

I think it's great that you like your hair. I think it's annoying when the girls with straight hair want curly hair and the girls with curly hair want straight hair and the girls with thin hair want thick hair. It's important to be happy with what you've got.  Smiley
