going out on a limb here, but...

has anyone ever SEMIPERMANENTLY dyed their darker (light brown) hair blond?

my friend is going to anime boston as light chi and would like to have blond hair to go with her costume, but doesn't want blond hair permanently. she has light/medium brown hair naturally.

ETA: punctuation

or you could go blonde and then use demi permanent to cover it in brown after being blonde.

My hair USED to be awesomely colored, all different shades of the rainbow.  The hardest and most labor intensive dye job I ever did was to bleach the roots white, then it faded to aqua, then to teal, then to indigo, then to black underneath.

My hair was like that for while but I was sick of the upkeep.

I got hired as a preschool teacher with hair like that. The kids loved it. Only in San Francisco....

Yeah, it only lasted about 6 months like that, I could hardly afford the dye! Wink

thing is, she didn't want to bleach, especially not for a just 3-day thing. :-/

Great thread!  Grin

unfortunately I had to stop dying my hair due to extreme loss of hair.  ::)Not funny when you´re allergic against hair dye!

haha, well my hair definitely does not compare to all your guys cool blue and pink hair (never in a million years would i be able to dye my hair) but I'm going to get my hair cut today, mainly because i haven't gotten it cut in almost a year and the ends are all split, but i figure wile I'm there, i should get some kind of haircut! My hair is kinda wavy/curly, like bad curls, and i definitely don't want layers because it would be too poofy. I have a really round face too.

Well i just took this but i had a bunch of zits and was smiling insanely so i scribbled it out. I might try again for a better angle. Any a better smile.
thanks!

edit ~ ok so i got like 2 inches off, but when its curly it doesn't really show, and the lady curled it dry at the "diffuser"
(sounds like something out of a sci-fi book lol) so its basically a tiny bit shorter and curlier.
my nose and chin looked gross... haha [ see if you notice a difference at all! not much...]
