This is not an original idea, I participated in one on another board and thought it might be fun to try here.

The basic idea is that you pick between 2 and 5 FQs of material (no less and no more), each one has to be different and no solid color material allowed in main project. You then sew something for your partner with that material, doing the best of your ability - not something just thrown together.

You are welcome whether you sew by hand or machine but do remember, it's a challenge so push yourself to do your best. Maybe try something new - if you haven't done a zipper try it, if you are quilting, add some fancy stitches or anything else that pushes your skill level. While your partner gets to pick their colors, the choice of project is up to you - you can check wists if you want to but it's not expected - I say again, the project choice is up to the sender. I want everyone to understand that so that when you receive, you won't PM me to say that you don't like what you got or it doesn't suit your style. If you can't abide by sender's choice, then please don't join this swap! This is really about making something you are proud of and sharing it with someone else.

You must use at least 2 FQs but no more than 5, each one must be different (no solid color allowed in main project but see below) and you must use the majority of each FQ - so if you decide to use 2 FQs, you will be making a smaller project, if you decide to use 5 FQs, you will be making a larger project.

A solid color fabric can be used for lining or backing projects but not part of the main project (in other words, if you make a fantastic bag, you can line it with solid fabric or if you make a beautiful pillow cover, the back can be a solid fabric.)

A note about colors - please don't get too specific - if you like blues, browns or reds, just say that, don't say I only want robin's egg blue or cherry red - give your partner some leeway to work with!
