My son turned 3 and he wanted a "barn/farm" theme.  I thought I would take a stab at making a barn out of rice cereal.  Great idea but not executed well!  Wink  It ended up leaning like the Tower of Pisa!!!  More like the Barn of Seven Hills!!!   I learned with this experiment including the do's and do not's of barn "raising". (  Wink )  I should have made the barn, froze it, frosted it, froze it and THEN add it to the cake.  Live and learn.  I did receive compliments on it and some laughs too!  At least he enjoyed it!

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy

It looks like a few of the barns where I live.  I think it turned out great.  Looks like your boy enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks everyone!

Moomin - I would highly suggest freezing inbetween.  After the fact, I ended up asking a local bakery and they suggested it for something like this.

hello all,
I think it is adorable and so is your son! My sister used to make shapes for her kids, but I was never any good at it.

How did you make it from rice cereal? I am inspired to try my Boston cream pie recipe again, it is a layered cake with filling. But I like it with fresh bananas so I cannot freeze it.

for all your fave sweets and more....candy
