My mother never attempted to hide vegetables in my food as a child, for which I am eternally grateful. However, as an adult who prefers sweeties to her greens, Ive had to fall back on using evil parent-tactics on myself. The result is surprisingly delicious, not to mention super healthy. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you:

Spinach and Chocolate Brownies!

I brought them into work today - not only did they not guess they were vegan, not a single person could tell they contained spinach!

I've put the recipe on my blog - The Beth Project, I strongly suggest you try making them, they're so nice and so virtuous!

What do you think?  Smiley

Spinach and Chocolate I love this idea!

The acid test for me though would be to try them out on my husband, he's not a lover of Spinach but man does he love chocolate!! since he's the one that loves baking he wouldn't be able to help from poking his nose in so if I get the chance to try them I'd have to make them whilst he's at work, kind of like a surprise attack!

I'll let you know if the spinach gets past the radar!  Grin

I just tried them and did not like them at all.Sad  I could taste the spinach and they were not very sweet.  They smelled great though! Wink  I think I may try them again with a little less spinach (since I'm a guy maybe I should only use 2 handfulls Tongue ) and a little more sugar.

I will let you know and will keep my fingers crossed Smiley.  My wife said they were not bad the next day so maybe I just ate them too soon.

You are culinery GENIUS

Thank you a million billion!

I have always had trouble stomaching fruit and veggies and this is a wonderful recipe!
They taste sooooooooo good and you can whack a massive amount of healthy healthy spinach in there and its not so guilty scarfing it down.

This recipe is going to take pride of place in my recipe book!

This is such a classic recipe.  I love sneaking my son's spinach in these, he can never tell so long as they're 100% cooled off.

Ah ha!! Grin  I made them again today with a few slight modifications.  I firmly packed the brown sugar - last time I lightly packed it.  Instead of spinach first followed by dry followed by wet I steamed the spinach and put it and the liquid in the blender and blended until it was very smooth. I then added the dry ingredients and mixed until it was a batter.  I baked it in a 9x13 pan at 350 for 30 minutes.  They were great! Grin  Thank you for the recipe.

The recipe on the website is gone! Actually, your website is a bit mussed up.

I love this idea like mad. I am so going to make these for my "vegetables and fruits have gross textures" fiancee. If I make "healthy brownies," he can get some of those nutrients. Just like using zucchini in moist baking products.
