I made pho.  Yummy scrummy pho!

So very good I ate it all!

The recipe is at http://www.bglassdesigns.com/b-glass-designs/2010/05/faux-pho-.html.  If you prefer not to use fish sauce sub 3 tbs soy sauce and keep adding to taste.

Gawd, I love pho. I had it all the time when I lived in Seattle.

Then I moved to a dinky town in Minnesota... and to my surprise, a pho place opened a few miles away from my apartment!

It's not really the best though, so I make mine at home.

Your recipe looks pretty darn close to normal pho! Gotta try it out!

Good job!  That's looks close to me.

On another note~~  How dinky of a town in MN do you live that you can't find pho?  Unless it's not a major city.  There's also Hmong, Laos, and Thai pho places in MN.  You might like them as well.

I started making my own pho when I moved to Costa Rica where there is not a Vietnamese restaurant.....at all.  I did lots of research and produced a great pho.  While living in Buenos Aires last year I took a pho class with the owner of A Little Saigon.  It is a closed door restaurant in the Abasato neighborhood.  Here is an article about it http://www.theargentimes.com/reviews/thegrill/a-little-saigon-in-buenos-aires-/

I incorporated a few of her ideas into the recipe.  And with that my beef version was born.  I had to make a few changes to get my faux version.
