as with most things i do, i looked at a pattern then tweaked it to my liking. i swear it was a redheart free hat pattern (with matching scarf) and i think i only followed about the first four or five rows, then kept in the same manner from there...

but i like it!
it's modeled by my lamp, because no matter how much i like hats (yum, so warm) i still look goofy in them!

well, i did sort of manage to get a picture of the top of my head...

i used a couple home-spuns (one artisan, one commercial, though i don't know where either came from as i inherited them from a friend) and a cashmere-blend yarn. it's pretty much just your regular granny-stitch hat pattern. it's awful snug; i was going to put a band of fleece on the inside but i don't think i need to.

thanks for checking it out!

That's so cute! I love how crochet hats always turn out looking like buckets.

i made another one Grin

this one is not for me, however... i used the same purple and white yarns, but traded the lush charcoal color for an equally yummy caramel-clored alpaca blend.

tasty! i thought about adding ear-flaps, but the hat already goes down to my eyebrows and covers the ears... it's a big hat (but snug)!

okay, here's pictures!

oh, clarisse, you're such a glamour-kitty!
take two...

much better! i hope the intended recipient likes it. on with the handmade crusade!

another hat...

for christmas... i'm getting so tired of presents! crocheted ornaments, aprons, bags, quilted towels, jewelry... why did i decided to do the handmade crusade again??

anyway, i used tapestry crochet, half-double for the top and single for the pattern stuff. it's for my dad. caron simply soft shadows and red heart dark brown...

modeled by the lurvely FH (future-hubby). he pulled it down over his ears so it looks a little stretched, but it's not. nice and straight.

on with the crusade...
