my uncle's getting married (Grin) and my aunt wanted me to make her a scarf "like how they would wear in the fifties" to go with her dress.  She was visualizing one like the one this,  but the pattern is no longer there!!!   Can anyone give me some pointers on how this was structured? Huh

by looking at the photo:

i would start with a magic circle of 8 sc
then dc, ch into 4 st
double to make 8
double again by ch in between
dc in each st & ch
ch lace for required length
reverse above to  make end point
end off
