If there are 20 people who sign up there will be 2 groups of 10 if there are less there will be less in each group or one group. depending on how many people sign up.

In simple terms: A B and C sign up:

B > C > A > B (finished towel)
C > A > B > C (finished towel)

-The first sendouts will be announced after all spaces have been filled.
-Having a camera is not a required, but it is nice to be  able to take pictures of what you have done.

IMPORTANT: I need you to seriously consider this swap before joining. This is a LONG swap, taking 3-4 months. You must be willing to give it your full attention for that full amount of time. Also, you must be financially capable of sending out 10 or so padded envelopes. (Even though it's only around $1.50, sending 10 times can add up.) So, do you do the same block on every towel (10 x)? Just trying to make sure I understand.

You could if you really wanted to but you can do a completely different one on each one. Grin

I loved the tea towel swap #4.  Hopefully, I'll have a swap slot open up in time to join this swap because I really would like to join.

One observation . . . I think that last time, our groups were 6 each and even then, some of the towels got filled up very quickly.  If we have 10 in a group, we'll all either need to buy some really big towels or be very aware of how much space we take up with our design!  I think it's totally doable . . . will just need a bit more planning/adjusting . . . especially when we get to the end of the swap.

I'm really, really interested in this one! But I'm pretty intimidated because I'm not an official embroiderer -- I see stitchwork I like then try to mimic it. Also, not sure where to buy a proper tea towel? Can you usually get them at places like Target or K-Mart (Martha Stewart)?

I've bought flour sacks by MArtha Stewart at Kmart and used those before. Smiley

The only place I've found them where I live is a local craft store but I know people get them in lots of different places and your stitching looks pretty good to me Grin

two things and then i shall decide if this is for me:
1. you aren't limited to cross-stitch/embroidering, right? you could craft whatever you want, so long as you leave room for others?

2. do you have to be willing to ship international? will one of the groups be domestic only (US)? is the price of mailing a padded envelope $1.50 internationally?

It is US only swap. What else do you have in mind other then cross stitch and embroidery? I think applique or a little painting could be nice
