Stealing Penguins

 last january I visited my favourite animals in the zoo: the penguins! In this zoo you can walk through (some of) their habitat, so there's a warning sign out front that says: Watch out! Penguins bite!" But you could misread it as: "Watch out! Penguins steal!" (it's in Dutch...) My boyfriend and I always joke about that, and this is what came out...



Me carefully reading the warning sign (and it looks like I spotted the penguin with the binoculars too) and penguins stealing valuable stuff out of my bag!

Drew the penguins with my beloved Copic multiliner, scanned them and edited it with Photoshop. Let me know what you think (as I'm not completely happy with it yet, and one of my teacher thinks I suck at drawing)

i like it, but what bothers me is how, even in Dutch (which is a wonderful and mysterious language) they can spell "underwater" with a Q.

Too cute!  I too love penguins.  I like how you have one standing on the other so he can reach the goodies in your bag.

I love it.  For some reason, it reminds me of the scene in Mary Poppins where they dance with the penguins...of course those penguins didn't steal (I don't think).  Don't let your teacher's criticism get you down; I see nothing wrong with your drawing and I absolutely LOVE the concept.

You have your own "voice" at drawing. Very warm-if Penquins can be warm- and happy. Take a look at how so many Professionals draw. Cartoon, ad, even childrens books, yours are miles ahead. Just stick to doing your own vision, and it will shine through.

I love this picture!  It does remind me of Mary Poppins too actually.  I think your drawing has a very fun sketchy style, and it totally works here.  Very playful and cute!
