Let me preface this by saying I didn't make this.  I was walking around in a neighborhood where by boyfriend works and came across a fire hydrant that some kind soul had knit a cozy for. I just thought the folks in this community might appreciate it! Smiley

I think it may have been there all winter - it looks like it started its life as a cozy another colour.

This is really funny!  Do people just randomly do this sort of thing?  Or is there some sort of organized group?

This is very inspiring.....! And thought provoking..... Grin

I just finished this great book called handmade nation that featured different crafty people, and one feature was a gaggle of girls that do this! They call it "tagging" and they basically just knit cozies for random stuff like this, to personalize it and make it happy! I wish I could remember their name....

That's fantastic!

It reminds me of a couple years back when I was still in college and someone graffiti'd our school mascot (a giant bronze tiger statue) with a sweater knit in school colors! It was lovely and everyone thought it was great! It was a huge sweater though!
