This is my first post so please have mercy.
First off, the disclaimers. I am a taught-by-my-mum-in-a-haphazard-way-as-a-child, slapdash sewer. Never learnt how to draft a pattern so everything I do is via the terribly technical process known as "winging it".
Also, I hand sew. I know. I am daft. Say no more.
I am also convinced I was a frustrated drag queen wannabe in a past life.
So, in other words, the stuff I make can be rubbish. Please bear with me.
OK, this is a costume I made yonks ago but as my camera is on the blink, I can't post the recent ones currently. I found this lurvely multi-tone green, gold & pink fabric with pink & white embroidery. Went back, covered a bra, made a split circle skirt, made a belt & then went to town sewing beads & sequins.
I gave it a bit of pop by layering a bright green coin scarf beneath the belt.
I made another panel skirt with crisscross straps on the sides for alternative options. But I think it makes me look tarty so it was relegated to the furthest reaches of the cupboard to repent its sins.
This green costume is still one of my favourites even if it is really old now & I am considering making another similar one in blue. Thinking ... thinking ... *slap wrist, slap, slap* Must resist. Must resist. Already have 4 other projects in the work. *Slap, slap, slap*
Thanks for reading and have a good one!
