Today, I have:

  • Spent an hour crocheting and frogged every damn stitch
  • Somehow got my drop spindle, myself and the varigated yarn I'm working on into a giant slubby felty backspinny messy tangle
  • Done two pages of my altered journal and torn them both out
  • Spilled just over a thousand seed beads all over the hardwood living room floor
  • Pre-fizzed an entire batch of bath bombs beyond all recognition.

I think we can safely call this a FAIL.

I'm feeling rather discouraged. Cheer me up with stories of your own Bad Craft Days, please!

When she was good, she was very very good - but when she was bad she was fabulous.

I am so sorry. All my first tries fail, but I think you have had one bitch of a day.

Got any alcohol?

Everything I make doesn't fit the first time around. And I don't just mean by a little Tongue I'm preparing to take something apart tomorrow, actually, haha!

Oh man, I had the BIGGEST disaster last night with tangling yarn, And it was while the twist was setting, too, so it was wet so it started to felt, and then it started falling apart and...

...yeah. I've had better moments [grin]

Well, there was the time my sewing machine blew up, destroyed the commissioned prom dress (whose fabric had cost me almost two hundred dollars, because I had to drive to Kansas City and be snubbed by the skanky part-timer) I was working on at the time, and while I was frantically trying to put out the fire...the rest of my stash went up in smoke, leaving me with a five hundred dollar cleaning bill from the landlord and a fine from the city. That was where I broke down in tears, picked up a half-gallon of chocolate milk, and watched transvestite movies till the sun rose.

Good God. Ashgreykitsune, I think you win.

And now I'm getting twitchy wondering whether I unplugged my sewing machine...

XD Well, if it helps, mine had had these problems before, they just never seemed to be that bad...I've learned my lessons now, and plan when I get my new one in to get it checked by a professional once a year. Just to be on the safe side.

I am working on hoopla number 2 right now...as in "the second hoopla I have ever made".  I really haven't touched a needle for any form of anything other than tightening a button since I was a tween- I'm 40 now.

So far on this hoopla I have:
1) destroyed an entire package of 15"x18" black aida cloth.
2) given up on doing this project as a cross stitch
3) attempted to (for some screwed up reason) use a paper image as a "traceable" image.
4) learned that doing Number 3 will cause all of your stitches to become very, very loose
5) torn out half of the above mentioned stitches, in an attempt to salvage the project.
6) learned that tearing out those stitches leaves little holes in your fabric.

*sigh*
