Thanks to everyone for their lovely comments  Grin Im am so proud of these - and so is the Hubbie. In fact he was wearing them lastnight as his feet were getting cold.
Your FIRST socks? Your DH is right.

The "AWESOME" is duplicate stitch, right?

Of course, they could be intarsia, which is even slicker and shows more mad skills.

It is Intarsia (all be it done very badly) not duplicate stitch. I knittied them in the round so the back has lots of loops and carried yarn - but that just makes them all the more shnuggly  Grin

My DH has this saying when something is really cool or exciting. He says "Awesome Socks!" (dont ask me, I dont know where it came from  Roll Eyes )

Is it, perhaps, "awesome SAUCE"?  Some of my dude friends use that phrase a lot, along with "lame sauce" and "fail sauce".
Those truly are awesome.  Can I move in with you?

Oh, it's just kittens.

I want to leave this world the way I came into it:  naked, screaming, and covered in someone else's blood.
