Earlier this semester I designed costumes for an opera, and fellow craftster Ex_Gratia worked her tiny butt off as my design assistant on the show.  To show I my thanks, I made her a hoodie.  And not just any hoodie, but a Harry Potter themed one.  Ladies and Gents, I give you Ex_Gratia's very own Ravenclaw Quidditch Hoodie!

The front, with sleeves visible:

Detail of team logo, the Ravenclaw eagle, clutching a snitch:

Back, with her name, number, and pretty star:

Left sleeve, with stripe, house patch, and position played (Beater):

Right sleeve, with stripe, and five stars for five years on the team:

A concealed wand pocket, in case dementors show up on the field during training:

Action shot of Ex_Gratia in the costume shop enjoying her hoodie:

All of the lettering, logos, and stripes were done with a mix of gold puff paint mixed with a rust colored "spray on" fabric paint to achieve a bronze tone (instead of gold) and freezer paper stencils.  The Ravenclaw eagle stencil came from the crafts section of http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/, I simply added the snitch into it's claws.  The hood is lined with a brown tee shirt that has been spritzed with the same rust spray on fabric paint, and the tee also provided fabric for the hidden wand pocket.  The house patch was ordered from far away in Taiwan, but only cost $4 with shipping!  It was tons of work and may layers of paint, but I freakin loved making it, and it seems to make Ex_Gratia pretty happy.  Maybe I'll eventually make myself a Gryffindor one....

Roar, roar Gryffindor!

that looks fantastic! (and a lot of work) It looks so professional, I didn't know you made it until you talked about lining the hood Tongue

Well, to clarify, I did not build the sweatshirt.  I mean, I could have, but it was cheaper to pick one up ready made at Walmart for $5 than it would have been to purchase the jersey.  The hood and back of the neck were lined in a soft but bumpy grey knit, that didn't fit in with my color scheme.  (I know the films made Ravenclaw's colors blue and silver, but I prefer the blue and bronze from the novels.)  So I removed the grey lining, used it as a pattern, and made a new lining out of that brown/bronze tee.  Then I did all the stenciling and inserted the wand pocket.

Thanks for the nice comments ladies!

That is seriously awesome. I've always loved Ravenclaw.
I might make myself one! I especially like that nifty wand pocket; might make it for a pen instead!
