So, has anyone ever heard of these "Craft Cruises"?  I came across this at the joy of handspinning site:
http://www.craftcruises.com/cruise.php?brand=Handspinning%20Cruises&cruise_name=Alaskan%20Explorer&cruise_line=Holland%20America%20Line&cruise_ship=ms%20Westerdam&dep_date=2009-09-06&cruise=21

And heres the clincher my husband has wanted to go on an alaskan cruise for quite some time.  I have absolutely no interest in seeing Alaska(I'm sure its beautiful.  But we live about 12 hour drive from Yukon(which borders Alaska)  I've had enough of the cold.)  And this would be a great compromise!!  I could take some spinning classes,  And he would get his alaskan cruise!   But before I go ahead and get everything together to go do this, I want to know if any spinners/craftsters have ever done one of these cruises?  Or would you do something like this?  The site makes you give your email to get pricing info, so I don't yet know the price.

I've never heard of a Craft Cruise but it sounds really fun! Not to mention the perfect opportunity for you and your husband to take a cruise you'll both love! I just sent a request for pricing info. I have an email address that I use only for things like that, lol.

LOL  yeah it does sound like fun. Now the question we have is who's gonna watch our kids? LOL  I still haven't received a price quote, but I am anxiously awaiting it!

I might do it, despite the fact that I LIVE in Alaska.  It's kind of an expensive way for me to do it just to craft, though...I've lived all over the state, and a tour of it is exactly what I don't need Tongue

haha! I suppose it definitly doesn't make sense if you live where the cruise is.  Though I'm sure they would do other cruises to different ports at a different time.

I got my price quote back, and its range is fairly normal for an Alaskan cruise.  Ocean view rooms starting at about 800$/person.   I kind of expected it to be more for some reason.  I'm sure there are cheaper deals out there, but this is something I think we'd both enjoy, because lord knows I really don't have any interest in hanging out in a casino while at sea.
